Corinth, New York is a town in northeastern Saratoga County with an area of 58 square miles and a population of 2,535 as of 2012.
History: The first residents of the area were the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca Native Americans. In this fertile valley the tribes Bear, Turtle, and Wolf clans grew corn (maze), beans and squash. They supplemented their diets with wild fruits and berries in addition to hunting and fishing.
The first European settlers made their home in the area near Mount McGregor around 1775.
After the Civil War several paper mills were established
The Town is called the "Snowshoe Capital of the World" and "The Gateway to the Adirondacks"
The town was created from the Town of Hadley in 1818. Originally called Jessups Landing. The name was changed to Corinth after the classical Greek city
